I AM EXPERIENCED INSPECTING LOG HOMES

Log homes are beautiful structures that are significantly different than a normal stick built home with siding. For starters the logs are structural, which can be very expensive to repair. Therefore, maintenance on a log home is critically important. In fact, there is a line of products designed specifically for maintaining log homes. Not only do you have to maintain the exterior stain, but the logs will crack which will require sealing. Furthermore, the log extensions, also known as log ends, are especially susceptible to wood decay and require a special sealant periodically. The photos below also show interiors with water stains on the logs when roof flashing is incorrect. If that's not enough, you also have to deal with carpenter bees and termites.
